3 Non-Alcoholic Tupelo Honey Spritzer Recipes

Tupelo honey has such a light, balanced flavor. You can spread it on toast, drizzle it on cheese and crackers, or even add it to your tea. But have you ever thought of making spritzers with your tupelo honey? It's a great substitute for sugar in spritzer recipes, adding sweetness plus a hint of its own flavor. Here are three simple, non-alcoholic spritzers you can make with tupelo honey.

Lavender and Honey Spritzer

Lavender pairs so well with tupelo honey. It has a similarly light, floral note. This spritzer is a great one to serve with a light weekend brunch. To make one drink, you'll need:

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon tupelo honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh lavender
  • 6 ounces sparkling water or soda water

Place the lavender, honey, and lemon juice in the bottom of a tall glass. Muddle together until the lavender looks broken up, but not entirely pureed. Add ice to the glass, and then top it off with the sparkling water. Give it a gentle stir, and then sip through a narrow cocktail straw.

Cranberry and Lime Spritzer

Cranberry and lime are a really refreshing combination. Tupelo honey adds some sweetness to this drink without overpowering the tartness of the other flavors. This is a more "sturdy" spritzer and could stand up to a meal like barbecue or beef sandwiches. To make one spritzer, you'll need:

  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons cranberry juice
  • 1 teaspoon tupelo honey
  • 6 ounces sparkling water

Stir the lime juice, cranberry juice, and tupelo honey together in a glass. Keep stirring until the honey is fully dissolved. Add ice to the glass, and then pour in the soda water. Stir gently, and enjoy.

Grapefruit and Honey Spritzer

This is a simple spritzer for anyone who loves grapefruit. With only the flavor of tupelo honey added in, the grapefruit really shines through. If you're really sensitive to tart flavors, you can add a little extra honey. For one drink, you'll need:

  • 1/4 cup grapefruit juice
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons tupelo honey
  • 6 ounces soda water or sparkling water

Mix the grapefruit juice and tupelo honey together in the bottom of a glass. Add ice, and then top off with the soda water. Give your drink another quick stir, and enjoy.

Experiment with these spritzer recipes to see which ones you like best. Tupelo honey is a great addition and one you may find yourself turning to more often.
